Operation Buddy Check is a veteran-led, peer-to-peer support initiative built on a simple but powerful idea: sometimes all it takes is one check-in to remind someone they’re not alone.

Transitioning out of service—or continuing to serve—can bring isolation, loss of identity, stress, and unspoken struggles. Operation Buddy Check exists to create space for connection, conversation, and community among veterans and active-duty service members from all branches and all eras.

This is not a clinical program.

It’s not a lecture.

It’s people showing up for people.

Whether it’s a shared meal, a casual meetup, or a quiet conversation, Buddy Check is about restoring camaraderie, rebuilding trust, and reminding each other: we’re still a team.

Our Partnership with the Veterans Care Project (VCP)

Operation Buddy Check is proudly delivered in partnership with the Veterans Care Project (VCP).

This collaboration brings together two organizations with a shared commitment to serving veterans with respect, dignity, and authenticity. Through VCP’s veteran-focused mission, outreach, and relationships—and Claus Cares’ operational support and community infrastructure—we are able to expand the reach and impact of Operation Buddy Check across our region.

Events hosted at VA facilities and trusted community locations

Consistent, reliable support without red tape or judgment

A mission-first approach that puts veterans before branding

This partnership allows Operation Buddy Check to grow responsibly while staying true to its core purpose.

No Membership Required

This is important, and we want to be clear:

You do NOT need to be a member to attend Operation Buddy Check events.

If you are a veteran or active-duty service member and want to show up—you are welcome.

No sign-ups.

No fees.

No pressure.

Come once. Come often. Bring a friend.

Operation Buddy Check is about access first, always.

Optional Tiered Membership Program

While membership is never required to attend Operation Buddy Check events, we do offer an optional tiered membership program for those who want to help sustain and grow this work.

Membership contributions directly support:

Meals and supplies for Buddy Check events

Outreach to veterans who may be isolated or disconnected

Program growth and long-term sustainability

Continued collaboration with our partners, including the Veterans Care Project

Membership is about supporting the mission—not buying access.

Operation Buddy Check Membership Tiers

(All amounts are minimum suggested contributions. Members may give more if they choose.)

11th Hour Watch

$11 per month | $132 annually

A symbolic entry-level tier honoring the 11th hour—standing watch so no veteran stands alone.

Armistice Commitment

$19.11 per month | $229.32 annually

Inspired by November 11th, this tier represents a commitment to peace, connection, and continued service to one another.

Beacon Builder

$55 per month | $660 annually

For those who want to help light the way—supporting expanded outreach, resources, and consistent events.

Sentinel Circle

$111 per month | $1,332 annually

Our highest tier, recognizing those who choose

 to stand guard over the mission and help ensure Operation Buddy Check remains accessible for years to come.
